Criteria, Deadlines and Materials
Application Criteria
A strong candidate will have:
- A commitment to public service and the Maxwell School’s mission to advance the public good by addressing complex health challenges through public health frameworks—epidemiology, environmental health, health systems and policies, and behavioral sciences—across sectors and communities, relevant internships, volunteerism or post-undergraduate work experience;
- Evidence of the ability to succeed in graduate-level coursework; while there aren't strict cutoffs or a minimum GPA, please note that on average our admitted students have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale;
- Strong undergraduate coursework in mathematics, statistics or both;
- A clear understanding of their career goals as they relate to this field of study.
Maxwell reads applications holistically. This means that each element of the application is factored into the admission process.
