Maxwell invites undergrad students of color to Public Policy Camp

The Maxwell School of Syracuse University is pleased to partner with the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management (APPAM) to host a one-day “Public Policy Camp” designed to introduce promising young students of color to the field and to help ensure that diverse perspectives are represented in leadership roles wherever public policies are made and implemented.

Bifulco comments on Say Yes to Education in Cleveland.com article

Robert Bifulco, associate dean and chair of public administration and international affairs, was quoted in the Cleveland.com article "Will Say Yes to Education scholarship program boost Cleveland's economy?" Bifulco believes in the program, stating that the primary goal is to intervene in students lives, with humanitarian effects being larger than economic impacts.

Inaugural Otey and Barbara Scruggs graduate scholars named

“The Otey and Barbara Scruggs scholarship is a fitting tribute to a treasured member of the History Department and his wife,” said Associate Professor and Chair of History Norman Kutcher. “Otey cared deeply about the University generally and the History Department especially. Graduate education grew substantially in strength and numbers under his leadership, so it is fitting that this scholarship will benefit our most deserving graduate students.”

Maxwell School honors new graduates at 2017 MPA Convocation

Celebrants of the Maxwell School's 2017 MPA Convocation ceremony reflected on the words of the Keynote Speaker, Howie Phanstiel the former Chairman, President, and CEO of PacifiCare. "When I first started to work in the government, I thought that 'profit' was a dirty word and had no intent or desire to work in the private sector," said Howie. The ceremony closed with remarks from graduating student Jace Beehler, calling on all Maxwell graduates to remain critical yet respectful, and debate wholeheartedly with an open mind.
