In the first 100 days of his second term, Trump has launched an aggressive and destabilizing agenda marked by sweeping power grabs, mass firing and attacks on institutions across America. His actions have included weaponizing federal agencies against political enemies, pardoning Jan. 6 rioters, triggering global economic turmoil and carrying out mass deportations with little regard for due process.

These unprecedented moves have stunned allies and opponents alike, reflecting a deliberate strategy to disrupt and dominate.

“Donald Trump has come in and has had just a blizzard of executive orders and other kinds of actions that have had serious impact in the federal government, the relations between the major branches of government and have had effects that have trickled down into Syracuse,” Grant Reeher, professor of political science, tells WCNY.

“So it's been—it has been clearly historic. We can debate on whether it's been historically good or historically bad, but there is no question that no other president except arguably Franklin Roosevelt has been as active in these first 100 days,” says Reeher.

In the CBS New York interview, “Impacts of President Trump's 100 days in office,” Reeher says, “It's the things that have been done have actually had impact and are going to have more impact down the road. And the difference between FDR and Trump in this regard is that Roosevelt could get things through Congress.”
